View JIRA issues in Confluence without JIRA access

We have JIRA and Confluence and most users have access to both. But we do have customers that only has access to Confluence. Is it possible in any way to let see JIRA issues in confluence without having JIRA access. We have User Stories that has been chosen for a certain version that we would like to present via a gadget on a Confluence page. But since we are using trusted sites the list of issues is empty if you do not have access to the issues in JIRA.

This will only work if you make the JIRA Project browseable for anyone (so for anonymous users).

No smart workarounds? I remember when we had an old version of JIRA, before trusted sites. We then had a macro, and a JIRA-user for this purpose (but the problem is that you see the password in the link). But it was only for reading so that was fine. Perhaps we need to do something like that again...

You could try something like that if you don't have SSO configured through CROWD but it might be a security hole.

Why don't you give those customers JIRA access too?

At the moment a licensing issue, getting very close to 100 users and not really needing 500... But I am sure that is where we will end up. Thing is we do not want customers to see worklogs and right now no really good built-in way of hiding it (are investing a plugin for this at the moment).

I don't know why this is the accepted solution. It was not the request. This is a workaround that can't apply to everyone.

Sometimes we don't want people to have access to jira. Yet we want to allow a confluence page to be consumed by two types of users. Those that have access to Jira and those that don't.

The plugin should allow to display the simple issue number if it's a single issue, or some custom text if it's a query. This will make confluence page look profesional and not full of errors for the users with no jira access.

I agree, it makes no sense that this isn't possible. We want to use Confluence with our clients to provide a dynamic snapshot of features/bugs and their status but not provide full access (view or edit) to the JIRA project.
