There are a list of items. I want to display check boxes before these items. Is there a way?
Perhaps the best is to select Insert --> Task list.
This will create a checkbox item that you can assign to someone with a due date. You can also just type some text if you want a simple list.
Either way, these checkboxes are dynamic, i.e. checkable.
