Is there a way to not clone fix version field when cloning an issue?

I am trying to see if there is a way to not clone some fields (particularly fix version) when cloning an issue in JIRA.

I don't think this is possible by default, but you can possibly use the Clone Plus Plugin for JIRA from Bob Swift to achieve this.

Not exactly what you want, but you can bulk edit the cloned issues. So clone and then bulk edit.

Unfortunately not, the only other option I could find is the (kinda ugly) workaround described at 'How can certain jira fields be restricted from cloning'
