Forward Jira Issues

Question

I thought I saw/heard about being able to forward JIRA issues to another user - say incase someone is out of office on vacation.  Is that possible?  I am not finding anything readily off hand.

This is currently not provided in JIRA out of the box and there is a feature request open for this:

Alternatively, you may try using one of the third party plugins below as well:
