Extending JIRA Service Desk

Is it possible to extend the JIRA Service Desk? For example, add a custom link below the "Add attachment".

We don't have a formal guide for either the Java or REST APIs, nor do we provide the source code https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/JSD-397. So it would be difficult, but doable.
