my users get a bit confused with this new share functionality. As we are all jira users nobody really needs this feature in my company. I was wondering if i can hide it or remove it somewhere from a template file.

To disable it globally, you can go to Administration > Plugins >> Plugins > Manage My Plugins > System Plugins > Show System Plugins > Atlassian JIRA - Plugins - Share Content Component.

Thanks, i only diabled the issue share part because we definitly like search sharing
