Page with several jira-macro is loading for long time

Hello

we have faced following problem:

confluence 5.4.3 and jira 5.1.8 are on the same server + apache + SSL

There are some pages with several jira-macro (from 2 to ~30). These pages are loading for a long time - much longer than pages without jira-macro.

Page with 2 jira-macro takes about 8-10 seconds.

Page with ~30 jira-macro takes several minutes.

Is there any solution to make them to be loaded faster?

Cache Macro can be used to provide better response time and lessen the impact of these requests on the servers especially if the data shown does not have to be current up to the minute.

Ran into this problem few weeks ago. The problem was that Confluence or Jira had run out of memory and was using excessive amount of CPU. Restarting the service solved this. This was for a page that had maybe 10-20 issue macro's that took a few seconds to load before and it was taking minutes now. Even though the CPU usage was over the top nothing else regarding using the product was slow.

Like other have said, its not good practice to do this in general, better to create a issue filter in JIRA and then just paste the url into Confluence so it creates a JIRA Issue List. That means just one API call instead of one per Issue.
