Can JIRA do a Two-pane Dashboard Layout?

Is there a way to setup the dashboard to have a list of my open issues in one frame and currently selected task in another frame? I want the list on the left to resort when I close or re-assign the currently selected JIRA.

I would like use the two-pane layout most programs have (like Outlook and Devtrack).

Please let me know if there's a way to do this.

yes, you can. Go to the dashboard you want to edit and click edit layout on the top right. Then you can choose it from there.
