Corrupt Field Configuration

I have a field configuration that has been stuck in JIRA for a long time, and every time I try to recycle it to use it fails to be recognized by the field configuration scheme.

Is it possible (and safe) to remove this from the SQL tables, and if so, which table(s)?

Try the integrity checker first and see if it picks up anything.
