Hi,
I think the JIRA -> Confluence link is cool and we use it alot but when writing an document and referring to issues the text looks ugly when we put an JIRA issue between the text because the JIRA issue takes so much for example an JIRA issue will write this MYPROJ-123 - this is a summary that explains this issue - Open and this is very big. Can we somehow ask for a shorter version of this ? Is this even possible ?

I'm afraid the fields displayed by the JIRA Connector are not yet configurable.
You could raise this as an improvement request in the CONF project at https://jira.atlassian.com with details of how you would like it to look.
Not sure what version of Confluence you're using, but in 3.x there is a feature called a 'shortcut link'. You have to be a full Confluence admin to set it up.

Well yes you are right but that's not what i want. I want the functionality of having a link that creates the mutual link in JIRA and have an dynamic link but just want to make it shorter.
done, thank you
Thanks for that. Here's a reference to the issue (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-25966) in case anyone else stumbles upon this question and has additional thoughts or requirements.
It's some years and several major releases later - but this page is still a top search result, so:
As described in the Jira Issues Macro support page for 6.11, once created you can select "Hide Summary" to make the link appear in shortened form:
