This is not amigration; this is a replication of the board, so KAN board project should remain operational and unaffected.Both Product and Development boards should be migrated

Hi @Abilash,

I'd suggest creating a new space and using the Share settings with an existing space option to replicate the configuration from your current Kanban space. This allows you to reuse the existing setup without migrating the actual work items.

Here are the steps:

Go to Spaces → Create a space.
Select the appropriate space template (e.g. Software Development).
In the creation wizard, look for Share settings with an existing space.
Select your existing Kanban space as the source.
Enter the name and key for the new space, then click Create.

This will copy the available configuration, such as workflows, screens, fields, and permissions. Note that this feature isn't available on the Free plan.

Once the new space is created, you'll need to recreate the Product and Development Kanban boards manually, as the board configurations themselves aren't copied through this process.

Your original space and its work items will remain unaffected. 🙂

The company-managed versus team-managed difference sounds like the key point here. Did the replies so far help clarify whether the board settings can be carried over between those two project types?

Unfortunately, there isn't a direct way to migrate a board from a company-managed project to a team-managed project.

You'll need to recreate the board manually in the new project. You can do this through the board settings and configure the columns, filters, and other board settings to match the original board as closely as possible.

Your existing board will remain unaffected. 🙂

Now we created the company-managed test project, so we can migrate the kanban project boards to the new test project,is possible or we should create manually

Even though both projects are now company-managed, you'll still need to recreate the boards manually. Unfortunately, there's no built-in option to migrate or copy a board directly to another project. 🙂

Hi @Abilash ,

You don't need to recreate both boards manually because Jira Cloud lets you copy them.
1. In Jira’s top search bar, select Go to all: Boards.
2. Find your Kanban board, click the three-dot menu, and select Copy.
3. In the copied board's settings, choose your new saved filter under General → Saved Filter. Update the board location to your LiftTest project if needed.
4. Repeat for your Product and Development boards.
The copied board initially uses the original Don't filter. Don't edit that shared filter, or your original board too.

Copying a board doesn’t move or duplicate work items, so your original project remains untouched.

Just keep in mind that copying a board is different from sharing project settings, such as workflows, screens, and permissions.

Hi,

On creating a new space, use the Company Managed space type, then you can use shared configuration.

If you want to create a new Team Managed space, this is not possible, as Team managed spaces are single containers and settings can't be shared between spaces.
