Best resource management app for Jira?

Hi everyone,

I’m the Head of IT Development at a company with around 200 people using Jira. We already use a popular Jira app for time tracking and resource planning, and the timesheets work great. My whole team logs their hours, and I can break them down by account, project, or team.

Capacity planning, though, is a different story. I find it clunky to work with, and I can’t get the aggregated views I need.

Here’s what I’m looking for specifically:

-team-level capacity with an easy way to switch between a detailed view and a broader time horizon.

-a project-level view showing each project’s timeline and resource needs, ideally alongside the per-person capacity view?

-a high-level overview I can share with top management.

I’m currently trying out a few alternatives, but I’d love to hear from people who’ve dealt with the same issue

From what I see, Planyway might be a good fit here

* Capacity by team, by person, any time horizon - you can group Workload by team and zoom from days to quarters. You can also expand a team to see each person’s load, and overloaded weeks and months turn red.

* For management - it’s easy to save the custom view and share it as a link, or export it to PDF, Excel or CSV.

Planyway Workload view also accounts for vacations and holidays, and works on top of your existing Jira tasks, so there’s nothing to migrate.

Might be worth a try :)

You could try the bestseller, as this is the latest most sold on, or check the verified install numbers on the apps, this tells which app is installed on how many instances.
