Remove the “Your admin has added Gmail” banner from Confluence search?

Hi everyone,

We’re seeing this banner in our Confluence search results:

Your admin has added Gmail! Connect your account to see missing results.

I’m an organization admin, but the Gmail connector settings show:

* Added by: Atlassian
* Tools enabled: 0
* All listed Gmail tools are Disabled
* A Connect Gmail prompt, rather than an active connection

Despite this, the banner still appears and tells users that their admin has added Gmail. I don’t see an option on this page to remove the default connector or disable the banner organization-wide.

We don’t want users prompted to connect their Gmail accounts. Clicking the × dismisses the visible banner, but I’m looking for an organization-wide setting rather than individual dismissal.

Is there an admin setting to turn this off, or does Atlassian Support need to disable it? Ideally, we’d like to remove only the Gmail prompt without affecting other connectors or Rovo search.

As mentioned, this is connected to Rovo, but unfortunately there's no option to disable it (at least not from the UI). There are related feature requests:

* ROVO-505: Ability to disable Rovo connector banners 👈 this is the one you're looking for
* AI-1153: Hide specific connectors from Atlassian Cloud (broader one and more related to connectors in general instead of banners)

You/your admin could reach out to Atlassian Support to see if they can potentially manually disable those banner suggestions for your instance (I believe it's doable). 🎟️

Hello,

There are two separate switches for this in Atlassian Administration, and from your description you may be looking at the second one:

* The search banner comes from the Gmail connector. Go to Connectors > All connectors, find Gmail, open the ••• menu > Manage, turn off "Show results for this Gmail in Rovo Search" and Save. If you don't want Gmail there at all, use ••• > Disconnect instead. It takes up to 48 hours, and you can't add Gmail back during that time.
* An entry marked as added by Atlassian with tools you can enable sounds like the default third-party actions. Those are turned off per site under Apps > Sites > your site > Connected apps > Settings > disable default actions. This one needs an org admin; site admin isn't enough.

I haven't checked that step 1 removes that exact banner, so if it's still showing after that, support is the next step as mentioned above.

Welcome to the community.

Based on the banner is appearing in Confluence search results, this would mean your areactively utilizing Atlassian Rovo or the global Atlassian Connected Search.

The  administrator has connected your company's Google Workspace/Gmail environment to your Atlassian instance.

I don't see options to turn this off.

You might need to raise an issue with Atlassian Support
