My team is working with OKRs in Jira Goals, and we haven't yet found the right level to connect our OKRs to the day-to-day work in Jira. Right now we're experimenting with linking goals to epics, stories, and initiatives, but none of these feels like a clean fit. Either the link is too high-level to show real progress, or it's so granular that keeping it up to date becomes a chore.
I'd love to hear from others who have worked through this:
- At what level do you connect goals to work (initiative, epic, story, or project/version)?
- How do you keep goal progress accurate without manual updates every week?
- Which gaps have you hit in Jira Goals, such as reporting, cross-project roll-ups, or progress calculation?
Real examples, including what didn't work, would be very helpful. Thanks in advance!
