Could we add a warning when a question, answer or comment appears to contain sensitive information?
People sometimes paste logs or error messages without noticing API tokens, passwords, email addresses or customer details. On a public forum, that information can become visible before anyone reports it.
Before publishing, the editor could:
- Highlight potentially sensitive content and explain the concern.
- Let the author redact it directly without losing their draft.
- Allow publication when the detection is a false positive.
Start with text and pasted logs. Screenshot detection could be a later improvement.
This would help prevent accidental exposure and reduce the need for moderators to remove sensitive information afterwards.
