Could you please explain this error Fatal error during import: Cannot invoke "com.atlassian.jira.issue.MutableIssue.getKey()" because "issue" is null i encountered while importing the defects from csv file.

I've seen a similar error before, caused by missing required fields. Jira import validates the data but crashes at import - Atlassian The error means Jira couldn't create the issue during import, so there's no issue key to retrieve. Try creating a defect manually with the same field values. Also check the required fields and validators on the workflow's Create transition.
