Thank you !
I suspect said account would be "Managed" like the others.
Which means its neither external nor guest.
As Entra would be your implied AD system.
Which means you would need to treat it like any other account - only this one with very minimal permissions. Likely billed as well.
Hello @Silke Fröndhoff
It depends on the account: Entra provisioning doesn't automatically make someone a managed Atlassian account.
Jira Guest access is only for external collaborators, and setting it as the default role doesn’t change that. Eligible external users can be assigned Guest and added to one Jira space. Is this an internal account or an external user provisioned through Entra?
Violation and use by internal users can be punished by Atlassian.

Hi @Silke Fröndhoff, I'd add one detail to Arek's answer, because the check you'll run into is the email domain and not the way your account arrived from Entra. When I read the Jira guest page, it says "To qualify as a guest, the user’s email domain must not match any domains associated with your organization, affiliates, or subsidiaries" and "You may not convert current or former paid users to guests". That means a colleague on your own domain can't become a guest even if nobody has claimed the account, while someone on a partner's own domain can, as long as you haven't given that account paid access before. Your Entra setup doesn't change that. If you're after Confluence as well, I'd look at Invite guests to Confluence (https://support.atlassian.com/confluence-cloud/docs/invite-guests-for-external-collaboration/), which describes turning a group into a guest group by changing its Confluence app role to Guest. If any of that person's groups has the User or App admin role, they count as a paid user. On the Jira side, guest access is only available in Standard, Premium, and Enterprise plans, so you'll want to check your plan too. Has this account had a paid Jira or Confluence role at some point?
