Today, the hostname that is built into Sourcetree is defined as bitbucket.org. Will Atlassian be releasing an update to Sourcetree that will automatically handle the hostname change to ssh.bitbucket.org?
Hello @Anthony Pomtree
The SSH change affects Sourcetree repositories using git@bitbucket.org and should be updated to git@ssh.bitbucket.org. The built-in Bitbucket account connection should remain unaffected, but I haven't found confirmation that Sourcetree will automatically update SSH settings. The deadline is December 10, 2026.

Hi @Anthony Pomtree,
I couldn't find any Sourcetree update that handles this, and Atlassian hasn't said one is coming. The latest release notes (Windows 3.4.32, Mac 4.2.19) don't mention ssh.bitbucket.org. The SRCTREE tracker has no ticket for it either.
The hostname is stored in each repository's remote, so I'd plan on changing them yourself. In Sourcetree that's Settings on the toolbar, then Remotes, then Edit on the remote:https://support.atlassian.com/sourcetree/kb/changing-remote-repository-path-on-sourcetree-using-git-or-mercurial/
From a terminal, git remote set-url does the same. The host keys stay the same, but SSH stores them per hostname, so expect one trust prompt on the first fetch. Clone URLs copied from Bitbucket already use the new host (https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/BCLOUD-24270).
Arek's December 10 is the final removal. The 21 Oct update adds brownouts that block SSH on bitbucket.org in weekday windows from November 12, growing to 3 hours by Dec 8-9. Any repo you haven't changed fails during those windows:https://community.atlassian.com/forums/discussion/3234032/upcoming-change-to-bitbucket-cloud-ssh-access-move-from-bitbucket-org-to-ssh-bitbucket-org
