Slack Alerts on Confluence Page Updates

Iskren Donev

Hi everyone,

There used to be a Slack integration I could use to automatically send an automated Slack alert to a channel of my choice whenever a Confluence page was changed/commented on.

This option used to live under the three dots on a Confluence page → Apps → Slack.

Now however I cannot find this option.

Ideally, I would like to restore it. If that's not possible I would like the easiest alternative that would provide me with the same functionality.

Thank you!

Hi @Iskren Donev 👋🏻

First of all, welcome to community! ✨

Below are some restoration options you could try:

Option1: Connect Confluence from Slack

1. Open the Slack channel where you want alerts to appear.
2. Ensure the @Confluence bot is in the channel (or invite it with /invite @Confluence ).
3. Type and send the slash command: /confluence connect <URL-of-your-Confluence-page>
4. If the integration is still active at the org level, Slack will open a dialog allowing you to select triggers (e.g., Page updated, Comment added).
5. You can view and manage existing subscriptions at any time by typing /confluence list in Slack.

Option2: Check Space level integration and permission

1. Go to Space settings → Integrations → Slack Notifications. Verify whether your Slack workspace is connected and enabled for the space.
2. Under Space settings → Space access (or Permissions) → Users, check if the system user "Chat Notification" is present. If this user was removed or lacks view access to the space, the integration disables itself for pages in that space.

Option3: If neither of the above works, an Org/Site Administrator may have disabled the integration:

• Admins can check under Confluence Settings (gear icon) → Atlassian Marketplace → Manage apps → filter by System apps → find Slack / Chat Notifications to ensure it hasn't been disabled.

If the Slack app cannot be restored or is blocked by your organization's policy, another alternative is Confluence Automation without relying on 3rd party action menus. Let me know if you need help with the automation, I can send it too.

I hope this helps & resolves your issue. 🙂

Thanks,
