Need activity log in feature Release Version (Jira Software)

Question

Hi Product Manager of Jira

I want to suggest an improvement to the Release Version feature in Jira Software. The feature is the Activity Log; this feature shows the history of changes and who made them, with the date and time for approvals and others

Thank you

Hey @Aldi Meilana ,

There are a couple of feature requests for this:

* JRACLOUD-87149: See date and time of approval of releases
* JRACLOUD-98266: Add Audit Logging for Jira Release/Version Changes in Jira Cloud 👈 probably the one you're looking for

I'd suggest voting on one (or both) and leaving a comment with your requirements when it comes to additional audits. Generally, the more votes it has, the sooner it will ship (hopefully 🤞)

Audit, from a global perspective, could definitely be improved 🤔

Cheers,

Tobi

Part of what JRACLOUD-98266 asks for is already there. The Jira audit log records project version created, updated, released and archived, with who did it and when. Checked today via the audit API on one Cloud site.

Settings > System > Audit log. Needs the Administer Jira global permission, and it's not there if all your Jira apps are on Free.

Approvals are the gap. The release page shows each approver's current status, but not when they approved. JRACLOUD-87149 asks for the approval timestamp, In Progress with 73 votes:

Per work item, the history tab also shows Fix version changes. Probably enough for the "who pulled this out of the release" kind of question.
