Unable to add Foxly Priority Score in Card Layout

Mike Kelly

On the board we like to display the 'Priority Score for Advanced Roadmaps' from foxly on the cards and sort the backlog based on that score. After the latest update on Cloud they moved the card layout to 'View Settings' (I found it) but now I can't find 'Priority Score for Advanced Roadmaps' as an option when searching for fields to show. Is there a way I can make this available again?

Hi,

Card layout did move into View settings in the new board experience. For company-managed spaces you can still add up to three extra fields on cards, either from View settings > Card layout, or as a board admin via Board settings > Layout > Card layout.

Foxly's Priority Score is a normal Jira custom field and Appfire documents that it can be shown on board/backlog cards in company-managed (Classic) spaces. A few things to check if it no longer appears in the picker:

1. Confirm the space is company-managed. On team-managed boards Jira doesn't let you add Marketplace/custom fields to cards (Foxly's own KB covers an automation workaround there).
2. As a board admin, try Board settings > Layout > Card layout and search for the Foxly Priority Score field (and the "for Advanced Roadmaps" variant if you use both).
3. Make sure the field is in the space's field configuration / context (open a work item > ... > Find your field if you're a Jira admin).
4. There's a known quirk where a complex board filter can hide a field from the card-layout picker: temporarily simplify/clear the board filter, add the field to the card layout, then restore the filter.

If the field still doesn't appear after that, it's worth pinging Appfire support, since the new View settings UI may not be listing every Marketplace field type the old Card layout screen did.

Hello @Mike Kelly

Appfire confirms Priority Score fields are still supported, although some other generated metric fields were retired:

Thank you for the quick response and I went through all the steps you suggested steps 1-4 and I still can not pull in this value the card layout.

Mike Kelly

Thank you for your quick response but for some reason I still can't see these fields in the card layout options.

create a separate board with a filter covering two projects. Jira still uses the classic board experience for multi-project boards.

Check whether the Foxly field appears in Card layout there. That would help narrow this down to the new board experience.

I created a board with multiple projects as suggested and it did bring back the classic board. The card layout options does include the field I am looking for. So it is because of the new board experience.

Hey Mike, thanks for running the two-space test, and it's the same new board change that took the Release button away on your other thread. I tried it on a test site with the "New board experience for company-managed spaces" beta on, and on a single-space board the View settings picker found a native Number field but showed "No fields found" for a Forge number field and a Connect app field that the classic Card layout listed fine. I didn't have Foxly there, so I can't promise your field behaves the same way, though what you're seeing matches it.

Atlassian's early access article says multi-space boards go back to the classic board automatically and stay there "until we migrate those in a future milestone", so I'd keep your second board for the cards and the backlog sorting until then. I couldn't find a public ticket for app fields missing from the new picker, only related ones for SLA fields (JRACLOUD-99852) and Assets fields (JRACLOUD-99824, which they already fixed), so you'd want to raise it with Atlassian support and get one created. If your admin turned the beta on, switching it off should bring the classic board back too, but that's site-wide. When you raise it, link this thread so they can see it's not only Foxly, the Forge and Connect fields didn't show up for me either

Hello Gabriela, I shut off the only two beta features I have available for my system settings and neither seems to change the board when I shut them off. Should I be looking somewhere else? Also I will create a support ticket for this and thank you for your help.

Hey Mike, sorry about that, my line on switching it off only works if your site got the new board through the beta, and I should've said it might not have. The one you're looking for is under Settings > System > Beta features, called "New board experience for company-managed spaces". If neither of your two has that name, switch them back on. They're site-wide. Your site then probably got the board through Atlassian's rollout instead, because their board doc already says single-space boards now use the new board, so you may have no switch at all. If it is there, give it about ten minutes and reload the board, since on my test site it still showed the old board after about five minutes and had switched by nine. I couldn't find a per-board or per-user switch, so your multi-space board is still your way back to classic. The ticket's a good idea, and you can put this thread's link in it. Mine has two other betas on that page, "Modern work item view" and "New work item layouts for List and global search", so if those are your two, the board one isn't on your list
