Hi everyone,
I urgently need help recovering data from my Confluence site: https://abhinavverma.atlassian.net/wiki
I received an email from Atlassian stating that my Confluence app would be deactivated due to inactivity on August 1, 2026, and that the associated data would be permanently deleted soon afterward.
Unfortunately, I didn't act on the notification in time. When I tried to regain access, I seem to have ended up with an empty Confluence site, and all my previous content is missing.
The data I had stored there was extremely important to me. I really need to recover my original pages, spaces, and attachments if they still exist.
I'm currently on the Free plan, and the support page is directing me to upgrade to Standard for one-on-one support. Before doing that, I want to understand whether recovery is technically possible.
Could an Atlassian staff member please help clarify a few things?
- Is my original Confluence data permanently deleted, or could it still exist in a recoverable state?
- Is there any way to investigate the original site's deactivation and determine what happened to the data?
- Could the site have been recreated as an empty instance while the original data remains recoverable separately?
- Is there any escalation or recovery process available for this situation, even though the standard recovery window may have passed?
I'm happy to provide the original inactivity notification and any details needed to verify ownership.
I'd really appreciate help from someone who can investigate this rather than just point me to the standard retention policy.
Thank you.
