I have a conflunce table and there is a column of cells that contains a different dates and I would cell color to automatically change the cell color based on how many days are left to that specific date in each cell. If there for instance is 1 month left there will be a specific color and if the specific date has passed there is another color.

Just to clarify, native Confluence tables don't support automatic date-based cell coloring.

Atlassian is tracking the related date-highlighting limitation under CONFCLOUD-68345 (Gathering Interest).

For your specific requirement, Table Transformer from Table Filter, Charts & Spreadsheets could help by applying conditional formatting based on date thresholds.

Native Confluence tables do not support automatic conditional formatting or dynamic cell coloring based on dates.

Here are the best workarounds depending on your setup:

Native Date Picker (//): If you insert dates using the slash command //, Confluence will automatically turn the date lozenge red once the date has passed (past due). However, custom thresholds (like "1 month left") cannot be configured.
Marketplace App: Use a dedicated macro such as Table Filter and Charts for Confluence, which includes built-in conditional cell formatting rules for dates and thresholds.

Hi, I'm Alexey 'Ce' from CelesteCS. As mentioned above, native tables can't do it, but if a Marketplace app is an option, this is exactly what our Conditions for Confluence app (Cloud and Data Center) does. You wrap the table in a Conditional Rules Manager and add one rule per color, all applied to the date column:

Element is not blank → green (every date starts green)
Element date is in the next N days, N = 30 → amber
Element date is overdue → red

Later rules override earlier ones, so a date turns amber 30 days before and red once it has passed. The colors are recalculated every time the page is viewed:

The "Days left" column is optional (a formula from our Math app). Dates inserted with the date picker and dates typed as YYYY-MM-DD are both recognised.

@Richard Andersson Unfortunately, neither native tables nor databases support this (yet!) 🫤

Would be a cool addition for sure. If there's even a slight option to switch to Jira with this, I'd recommend checking format rules 🚦 Pretty cool feature and I use it personally to highlight upcoming dates/entries 🙂

Would be cool if you could discuss this with Atlassian Support just to check if they have any additional insights about this feature being available in Confluence too 🤔

Or… maybe you could Forge it as well, but that's an area for itself.
