Not able to upload image on wiki by choosing the option - Insert files and images. And after that it is showing this error "Could not upload the file to Confluence. The server may be unavailable."
Hi lokesh saini, welcome to the Community!
That message comes from the Confluence Data Center editor, so I'm assuming your wiki runs on your company's own server. It usually means the editor's upload request isn't reaching Confluence the way it expects, and that's something your Confluence admin will need to fix.
Quick workaround for now: open the page's ••• (Tools) menu > Attachments, attach the image there, and then insert it into the page from the files already attached to it.
What your admin should check, in this order:
Atlassian's article for this exact error: Upload attachment function does not work in editing mode
Does this happen to everyone on your wiki, or only to you?
Glad it helped, Lokesh! Anytime. If you run into anything else, just post it as a new question here in the Community so others can find it too, and feel free to tag me
Hi @lokesh saini ,
German has already provided a potential solution, but just to confirm — are we talking about a cloud or DC environment here?
You could check with your Confluence admin to see if there have been any background changes regarding permissions or the config. in general 👀
Apart from that (and everything listed above), you could check these:
api.media.atlassian.com
Cheers, Tobi
