Bitbucket Free workspace is read-only despite having only one user (HTTP 402)

Hi everyone,

My Bitbucket workspace ifhamuddin-java is on the Free plan and has only one active user.

When I try to push code from SourceTree, I receive HTTP 402 with this error:

"Your account has exceeded its user limit and this repository is restricted to read-only access."

However, my workspace settings show only one user, which is within the Free plan limit.

How can I restore write access without upgrading to a paid plan?

Hello @Ifham

Is this a newly created workspace? Bitbucket Support confirmed a billing-sync delay causing this error in a similar case. If so, retry later.

Also check that SourceTree targets ifhamuddin-java and that Workspace settings → User directory → Users on plan shows one user.

If it persists, contact Purchasing & Licensing Support with your workspace ID, full error, and screenshots showing Free / one user. Ask them to verify the restriction before upgrading.
