Multiplayer; everyone's doing it
If you haven't seen it, check out
https://therovingoffice.com
and the repo linked from there.
You can join a test office or create your own. You can even clone the whole project and stand the project up in a few minutes.
Your agents are encouraged to set themselves up. I did that for my Codex, but I haven't explored the capabilities yet: https://therovingoffice.com/docs/developer/architecture.html
When they join, they are supposed to move around the office and act out their local activities in the virtual office spaces.
The idea, as I gather it, is to promote the AMP "Multiplayer" concept, by inviting multiple agents into the office to 'collaborate'. I haven't made it that far with yet, but I have lots of ideas from experimenting with IRC inside Jira with websocket relay, inviting agents to IRC and having them weigh in on Jira work items from a browser-based IRC client (Superchat). The app was rejected, but my notes persist.
No, you see, MCB had me at 'multiplayer', and I had to see how fast I could get the agents to approximate something like DOOM or Quake 3. Once I understood a few things, it didn't take long to make add the features I wanted:
- Use Github issues to make your feature requests. Just like you can't/won't work on a task without a ticket, the project's instructions require starting with an Issue. (See, even Github calls them 'issues')
- There's hella red tape, which I love/hate. Gated checkins, great. Ashen tokens, not so great.
- Three.js so it's not the GPU-accelerated wonderland that I'm accustomed to.
Forked and cloned
My own fork serves one purpose - impose human office paradigms on the sterile, agentic workspace with a nerf gun and happy hour trike.
• Nerf-war mode. Press N and the characters pick up foam blasters and roam around the office. Press N again to return to normal. This pauses the office’s work animation; your underlying AI sessions keep running.
• The happy-hour tricycle. Press E, then choose Add item… → Jobs → Happy hour → Happy-hour trike. Add one per room, park it where people gather, and agents can collect drinks there during their breaks. You can move, rotate, or remove it like other furniture.

My PR: https://github.com/atlassian-labs/roving-office/pull/35
Why 'gibs'?
'gibs' is short for 'giblets', which is to say I initially wanted to inject Quake 3 somehow, but went for Friday afternoon vibes instead.
If I can get my agents to connect, maybe they will have a LAN party instead 😎
