Hello Atlassian Team,
I am on a Bitbucket Cloud Free workspace and cannot open a support ticket.
Workspace:
danielaugustoca
The workspace is currently showing approximately:
904.7 MB used / 1 GB limit
I have already cleaned and rewritten the Git history of 37 repositories in the workspace.
For each affected repository I:
- Created and validated a full mirror/bundle backup
- Preserved the exact current Git tree
- Created a new root commit using the same tree
- Verified that the old and new tree hashes were identical
- Force-pushed the new root commit to the main branch
- Removed old branches and tags
The rewrite completed successfully.
However, Bitbucket is still reporting repository sizes that are much larger than the currently reachable Git data.
Examples:
futuro-verde
Reachable snapshot: approximately 18.6 MB
Bitbucket reported size: approximately 77 MB
rn-fato-ou-fake
Reachable snapshot: approximately 32.5 MB
Bitbucket reported size: approximately 90.8 MB
bambino-theme
Reachable snapshot: approximately 3 MB
Bitbucket reported size: approximately 35 MB
The workspace still reports approximately 904.7 MB used after more than 24 hours.
Could an Atlassian team member please:
- Run server-side Git garbage collection on all repositories in workspace danielaugustoca
- Remove unreachable Git objects left after the history rewrites
- Check for hidden Pull Request refs or other internal references retaining the old objects
- Recalculate the repository sizes
- Recalculate the total workspace storage after GC
The workspace is on the Free plan, so I cannot raise a normal support ticket.
I can provide repository names, commit hashes, or additional details if required.
Thank you.
