Moving from Free to Standard Plan

If we configure a JSM project on the Free plan and later upgrade the same site to Standard, will everything we built carry over unchanged? That includes request types and forms, queues, knowledge base articles, automation rules, customers, tickets, comments and attachments. Is anything lost, reset or needing to be rebuilt? And if we later moved back down to Free, what happens to data and configuration that depend on Standard features?

Yes, upgrading a Jira Service Management project from Free to Standard is seamless. Your existing project configuration and data remain intact. You don't need to rebuild anything.

If you later downgrade from Standard to Free, the data is generally retained, but you'll lose access to features that require a Standard subscription.

In short: Upgrading does not reset or remove your project configuration or data, and downgrading primarily affects access to paid features rather than deleting your existing content.

Yes, everything that you build on the free plan stays if/when you upgrade to the standard plan.

If you later decide to downgrade to the free plan you will lose features that comes with the standard plan, like permissions, but everything existing stays the same. Note that any data that are for standard plan stays, nothing is deleted.
