Confiforms dynamic row number column

Question

Hi I have a confiforms table that requires a dynamic row number column (let's call it "Rank") on a master page. Ideally this field should be autopopulated based on the order of the rows of data, which is determined by multi-sort criteria. Any changes to select fields can affect the order, and the "Rank" column should auto update when such changes occur. This "Rank" column should also auto update as and when new rows of data are added and/or deleted. Other pages with tableview should also be able to call on this table and display select rows along with the specific "Rank" from the master page.

May I ask if this is possible and if so how can I achieve it?

Apart from that, another ask is to display the largest "Rank" number on another page. Is there anyway to do that?

Hi

This could be triggered after creating, editing, or deleting entries. The API also supports skipIFTTTExecute=true to prevent recursive updates.

It's more complex than a simple IFTTT rule, but might achieve the consistent ranking across multiple pages you're looking for.

Hi, I am on Data Center. Hmm in particular I am currently stuck with trying to input sorted row position as an actual value in the Rank column. I understand we cannot directly do so using IFTTT with something like Rank=[entry._position], is there any alternative method to do so? Such that everytime the sorting is updated, i can use IFTTT to update the Rank value with latest

Are you on Cloud or Data Center?

I would store the rank as a real field on each record. If the number only exists when the table renders, every filtered TableView on another page restarts it at 1. Alex shows a starting point in this thread. It uses an IFTTT action to write [entry._count] into a field on create:

You would need to handle deletes also I guess.
