Has colored text been REMOVED from Jira, or am I doing something wrong?

Recently there the text-color tool has been missing from the Jira toolbar. Am I doing something wrong, or has Atlassian found another new way to cripple the software?

I work on app strings. I need to be able to color the old strings red, and my suggested strings green.

You haven't done anything wrong! 🙂 Atlassian periodically redesigns and condenses the rich-text editor toolbar in Jira Cloud, which often moves or collapses formatting tools (like text color and text highlight) under sub-menus, floating toolbars, or slash commands.

Depending on whether you are in a Jira issue description, comment, or modal, you can use one of these methods:

• Method A: Highlight Selection —> Floating Toolbar
  Highlight the specific text with your cursor. A floating mini-toolbar will appear directly above the selected text. Look for the A icon (with a color bar or dropdown arrow) to select your text or background color (as Vladislav has mentioned above with the screenshot).
• Method B: Main Toolbar (... or A Dropdown)
  On the top toolbar of the editor:
  • If your browser window is narrow or the field is compact, several tools collapse into the ... (More formatting) icon. Click ... to reveal the Text Color picker.
  • If the A icon is visible, clicking the small arrow next to it allows you to switch between Text color and Highlight / Background color.
• Method C: Slash Commands
  Type /color or /text color on a blank line or before typing to open the palette directly.
