Hi Bitbucket community! 👋
Welcome back to the Bitbucket Digest. Your source for the latest on Bitbucket Data Center and Cloud, from planning resources to product direction. Whether this is your first read or you read the last edition, glad you're here.
This issue covers new features in Bitbucket Data Center 10.4 and 10.5, updates in Bitbucket Cloud including agentic vulnerability fixes, simpler Pipelines agent setup, and test health monitoring, and a preview of the Bitbucket session at TEAM '26 Europe.
What's new in Bitbucket Data Center
Since the last Bitbucket Digest, two Data Center releases have shipped, 10.4 and 10.5, with improvements across AI tooling, security, performance, and PR workflows.
Now Available: Bitbucket Data Center 10.5
Bitbucket Data Center 10.5 brings AI integration, stronger commit security, and performance improvements at scale including:
→ MCP server for AI coding agents: Bitbucket Data Center now has an official MCP server, available as a Marketplace plugin. AI coding tools like Rovo, Claude Code, and Cursor can connect to your instance to browse repos, search code, read diffs, and work with pull requests. Write operations are available but off by default, and admins can enforce read-only mode, restrict access by repo, and audit every request.
→ X.509 system-signed commits: Server-generated commits, merges, reverts, and UI file edits, are now automatically signed, closing the gap for organizations that require every commit to carry a valid X.509 signature.
→ Rate limiting and throttling improvements: Bitbucket Data Center 10.5 also includes improvements to rate limiting and request handling under load, so large instances with heavy automation traffic run more smoothly. See the full release notes for details.

Bitbucket Data Center 10.4
10.4 is focused on giving teams more control over their pull request workflows:
→ Change pull request author. Bitbucket Data Center 10.4 lets you transfer pull request ownership without losing context. When work changes hands, you can keep the existing PR and retain its build results, comments, tasks, discussion, and review context while changing the author. Useful when the original author is unavailable, when a PR was opened by automation or a service account, or when someone else needs to take over the author-facing workflow.
→ Revert merged pull requests. You can now revert a merged pull request directly from the Bitbucket UI. This creates a new pull request that undoes the changes from the original merge, so your team can roll back changes quickly without leaving the PR workflow.
→ Filter pull request email notifications. PR email notifications have been reorganized into four categories, with separate settings for pull requests you author and those you review. Choose which notifications you get so you only hear about what matters for your role on each PR.

What's new in Bitbucket Cloud
Automating security vulnerability fixes with Agentic Pipelines
Learn how one of our engineering teams set up an agentic workflow to resolve routine security vulnerability using Agentic Pipelines. The result: agent-created PRs that fix vulnerabilities end-to-end, with a 95% first-run merge rate.
Rather than engineers switching contexts to triage and patch dependency bumps, the agent reads Jira details, generates the fix, opens a clear PR, runs the pipeline, and hands off for review. If the build fails, the agent retries automatically.
It shows how Agentic Pipelines removes repetitive work so teams can focus on tasks needing human judgment.
Simpler setup for AI agents in Pipelines
Now you can define agent defaults once and reuse them across the pipeline, cutting setup friction for existing and new Agentic Pipelines users. Read the details →
Test health monitoring in Bitbucket Tests
Bitbucket Tests now shows test suite health at a glance, passing, flaky, and trend history, helping catch issues before they escalate. See what's new →
Joining us for TEAM '26 Europe?
If you're heading to TEAM '26 Europe in Amsterdam, there's a Bitbucket breakout session worth putting on your schedule:
Enterprise scale meets agentic speed: Bitbucket as the software delivery platform for the AI era
📅 Tuesday, October 6, 2026, 2:45 PM – 3:30 PM | Stage 3, Hall 2
Raul Gomis (Head of Engineering, Bitbucket Pipelines) and Caris Hurd (Senior Design Manager, Bitbucket Cloud) will dig into how Bitbucket is evolving for a world where AI agents are writing, testing, and shipping code alongside your team. If you’ve followed the Agentic Pipelines updates in this digest, this session dives deeper with live demos of what’s coming next and shows how the Data Center and Cloud platforms add enterprise guardrails as AI-assisted development scales.
Can't make it in person? The session will be available on demand after the event and we'll share the link in a future edition of the digest.
