On the old Atlassian Community forum, it was possible to reply directly to a specific answer or comment within a question.
Since the forum migration, this no longer seems possible. Replies are added to the general discussion instead of being clearly attached to the answer they refer to.
For longer technical discussions, this makes follow-up communication unnecessarily difficult.
A typical thread can contain:
the original question;
several different answers;
troubleshooting questions from multiple people;
updates from the original poster;
follow-up questions about one specific answer.
Without threaded replies, it quickly becomes unclear who is responding to whom and which answer is being discussed. Using @mentions helps a little, but it does not replace the context provided by replying directly beneath a specific answer.
It would be great to restore the old behavior, for example:
Answer
↳ Reply
↳ Reply
↳ Follow-up reply
or at least provide a Reply to this comment/answer action that clearly links the response to the original message.
This would make technical troubleshooting much easier to follow, especially when a discussion continues over several days or involves multiple Community members.
For me, this is one of the biggest usability regressions after the forum migration.
