Currently, both question creators and Champions can see the “Did this answer the question? Yes / No” controls.
I’d suggest hiding these controls for their own answers when the logged-in user is not the original question creator, even if they are a Champion.
The question author is usually in the best position to decide whether a response actually solved their problem. Showing the controls to Champions on other members’ questions can also be confusing — particularly when viewing their own reply, where it appears that they could evaluate or accept their own answer.
Ideally:
- Question creator: can accept/reject answers on their question.
- Champion who created the question: same behaviour as any other question creator.
- Champion who did not create the question: acceptance controls are hidden on their own answer(s).
- Other users: no acceptance controls.
If Champions need some separate moderation capability for unresolved questions, that could potentially remain available through a different moderation action rather than the normal “Did this answer the question?” UI. (Not sure which, though)
