In Jira, multiple issues may be linked as Depends On in a single operation. In ConfiForms, is it possible to use a jira multi-select field (example manyJiras) and link all selections within a single IFTTT? For example something like the block below (although this code failed) or is there a way to iterate through each of the selections to run the operation on each jira one at a time within the same IFTTT?
{ "update":
{ "issuelinks":
[ { "add":
{ "type":
{ "name": "Depends On" }, "inwardIssue":
{ "key": "[entry.manyJiras]" } } } ] } }
Thanks @Tomislav Tobijas. Digging further, after discovering that multiple add operations on links are not supported in IFTTT, I got creative to accomplish the linking this way. My original CreateIssueForm ConfiForm contained these fields: - JiraOfCreatedIssue (jira, single-select field) - RelatedJiras (jira, multi-select field) I created another JiraLinkingForm ConfiForm containing fields - SourceJira (jira, single-select field) - DestinationJira (jira, single-select field)
and an IFTTT with
Then, in CreateIssueForm, added an IFTTT with
that flattened the data in RelatedJiras, creating entries in JiraLinkingForm that set - SourceJira from JiraOfCreatedIssue - DestinationJira from RelatedJiras
allowing JiraLinkingForm to do the linking one entry at a time. Hope this helps others😉
Hi @Miriam Cohen,
I’m no ConfiForms expert, but since this seems specific to how ConfiForms processes multi-select values in IFTTT rules, I’d suggest reaching out directly to the ConfiForms vendor, Vertuna.
You can contact them through one of their support channels > see here.
They should be able to confirm whether the selected Jira work items can be iterated within a single IFTTT rule, or recommend the appropriate configuration/workaround.
Hope that helps point you in the right direction! 🙂
Cheers, Tobi
Ah, nice @Miriam Cohen ! Love the creativity 😄
