Project Organization question

Hi all,

we're a team developing a bunch of C# projects.

Everyone in the team can work on any bitbucket repo of our project, so our tasks can be assigned to anyone in the team.

Is not clear to me ow to organize things.

Should I create a single "space" ? In that case how can I associate backlogs items to the correct repo ?

Should I create multiple "spaces" ? In that case how can I build a sprint getting items from different backlogs ?

What I'm thinking of is something like this:

1. Every repo has its own backlog
2. I grab tasks from different backlogs and create a single sprint
3. every dev log into Jira and see things to do, switching to the repo to implement them

Hi @Fabio Grande,

One team = one space, don't create a space per repo. Your setup (any dev works on any repo, one shared sprint) is exactly the single-space case: one backlog, one board, one sprint, no cross-backlog assembly needed.

For the repo association:
1. Add a component per repo, then the backlog and board are filterable by repo.
2. Connect Bitbucket and put the issue key in branch names and commits (PROJ-123-fix-login). Jira then shows branches/commits/PRs on the work item automatically, whichever repo they're in.

Dev flow: pick a task from the sprint board, "Create branch" from the work item (it opens Bitbucket with the issue key pre-filled, you pick the repo there), implement, PR links back by itself

Multiple spaces only make sense for different teams/workflows/permissions, never just because there are many repos. And a sprint always belongs to one board, so gathering it from several backlogs isn't really supported, that's the painful path.
