Claude MCP Connector Not Working

Question

I'm trying to connect Claude to Atlassian using the MCP Connector, and it's failing. Looking at the network traffic, it appears the following request is returning a 404

https://auth.atlassian.com/gateway/api/gasv3/api/v1/metadata?product=identity&userId=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXREDACTEDXXXXX&userIdType=atlassianAccount&tenantId=&tenantIdType=none

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it was giving a 503 error for authentication for about an hour, but it's back up now for me

That 404 looks like it may be happening during the authentication/context lookup rather than the actual Jira request. 👀

Atlassian did recently release v2 of the MCP server, so I’d first try removing/disabling the existing Atlassian connection in Claude, reinstalling the current Atlassian connector/plugin, and completing the authentication flow again.

If it still fails after a clean reconnect, I’d also check whether your organization has any MCP restrictions configured in Atlassian Administration. If everything looks fine there, this may be worth raising with Atlassian Support together with the relevant logs/request details.
