When i copy of dublicatw a board it gives a red sorry error on the updated iphone app

Could you try copying the same board to the same Workspace from trello.com in Safari or from a desktop browser?
Also by chance didn't you have already 10 Open boards? If yes, on free subscription there some limits around that.

To upgrade your Trello Workspace, you’ll have to do it in a web browser since the mobile app doesn’t let you manage subscriptions.
If you're the Workspace admin, just click on the Trello logo, then go to Workspace > Billing > Explore plans. The Standard plan is all you need for unlimited boards. Just remember, the pricing is charged per member in the Workspace. Once you've upgraded, you can try copying the board again.
