How can I insert rtf into a jira wiki page?

I have created some text in markdown format.  I can convert it to RTF with pandoc.  Is there a way to insert the RTF directly into a JIRA Wiki page?

Can you paste an example into an 'Answer' within this question?

A quick glance at Pandoc shows that it supports HTML, plain text, and Word Document, all of which Confluence has varying levels of support for.
