When a user that has the Add comments permission but not Edit and/or Delete comments permissions clicks the add comments button. The user get's a warning about navigating away from the page and that the entered data might get lost. The comment will still get posted though.
Is this a known bug?
It might be. Depends on what Jira version are you using. This one [1] is for 5.1.

We are indeed using 5.1 (5.1.3 to be exact). The bug seems to be fixed in 5.1.4.
