đĄÂ Empower your users
As a Jira Admin, you play a key role in helping your teams manage projects, track progress, and complete tasks. We're here to support you!
Choose a tip to share weekly over the next month with your organizationâs Jira users via Slack, Teams, your company wiki, or email.

Tip #1: Tame common Jira antiâpatterns with simple fixes
âď¸ Are your teams dealing with too many statuses, âgiantâ tickets, or label chaos?
Encourage them to:
-
Work with you to keep workflows simple: Collapse to 5â8 clear âdecisionâ statuses and use comments, checklists, or subâtasks for detail.
-
Use Epics as containers: Make Epics hold the big work, and keep stories small, testable, and âsprintâsized.â
-
Treat labels as lightweight tags: Use labels for temporary tags only, and rely on Components, singleâselect fields, or issue types for longâterm structure.
Small cleanup moves here make boards, filters, and reports much easier to understand.

Tip #2: Let Rovo keep your ticket titles clear and scannable
âď¸ Encourage users to ask Rovo to shorten and clarify long or vague ticket titles so backlogs are easier to triage.
Try sharing:
âWhen you see a confusing ticket title, open the work item and ask Rovo to âsummarize this into a short, action-focused title.â Use the best version and keep it under 80 characters.â
|
| Â |
Â
Tip #3: Use Rovo to prep for backlog refinement
âď¸ Before refinement, have teams ask Rovo to surface the messiest items so you spend meeting time deciding, not cleaning.
Try sharing:
âBefore refinement, ask Rovo: âShow me highâpriority work items in this project that are missing acceptance criteria, estimates, or an assignee.â Fix those first so your session starts with ready-to-discuss work.â
|
| Â |
Â
Tip #4: Standardize âgood commentsâ with one reusable prompt âď¸ Help users turn brain-dump comments into clear updates that are easier to scan.
Try sharing:
âWhen youâre leaving a status update, write your rough notes, highlight them, and ask Rovo to âturn this into a clear status update with context, what changed, and whatâs next.â Paste the improved version so anyone can quickly understand progress.â
|
| Â |
Â
Tip #5: Use âgood enoughâ views to start, and don't get stuck on "perfect" dashboards âď¸ Many teams get stuck waiting for the perfect dashboard. Nudge them toward simple, shareable views instead.
Try sharing:
âInstead of building a complex dashboard, start with one shared board or list view filtered by team, status category, and priority. Pin it for the team and iterate later based on what people actually use.â
