Copying intranet content via WebDAV gives page naming error

Question

I'm trying to import a whole directory tree from a samba server into our new shiny confluence instance using webdav..

Problem is we have directories that are duplicated e.g.

* 2007* Q1
* Q2
* Q3
* Q4

* 2008* Q1
* Q2

etc etc..

Is there any way around the need for unique page names within a space, OR a way to add a number to the instance of that name just so I can get them imported ?

Answer from Atlassian, sadly in the negative..

"I'm afraid there's no quick way around this, as Confluence will not allow duplicate page names. A short term solution might be to move them into separate spaces  If you want to move the content into the same space later on, you will need to rename those pages so that there are no duplicates.

Short of that, if you need to import them into the same space at the get-go, there's no easy way aside from manually renaming the duplicate directories."
