Starting today, any newly selected board background from Unsplash or new custom image uploads are, for us at least, stuck in a very lossy, blurry resolution.
I have confirmed this is a server-side/frontend delivery issue by:
-
verifying that board backgrounds uploaded or selected prior to today still resolve in high resolution perfectly,
-
testing rendering in multiple browsers and in incognito mode,
-
inspecting the DOM, which shows a div with ID #trello-board-root-low-res-background-preview but no corresponding full-res background div,
-
confirming that both the low-res version of the image and a higher-res version exist on the S3 bucket.
My conclusion is that the image transformation workers are successfully creating the high-res assets, but the Trello frontend is failing to request them or trigger the swap from the placeholder to the high-res version.
Is there a known regression in the board rendering pipeline today?
