Using Virtual Machine to host Application and/or Oracle Database?

Does anybody use a virtual machine as the Confluence application server, or also the DB? (using Oracle).

If so, how much testing did you do and how large is your environment?

We deploy most instances to clients of all sizes as a virtual machine. Works fine and performs great. Postgres is preferred. Oracle works though.

We have this documentation for JIRA on VMware which has a lot of good tips. It refers to JIRA, but it as applies to Confluence.
