Getting "Unable to connect" error when trying to create anything other than a blank page

We recently installed Confluence. We are able to create spaces, but when anyone tries to create anything other than a blank page for those spaces (e.g., Product Requirements, How-to Article, etc.), all users get an "Unable to Connect" error that says the browser can't establish a connection to the server at localhost:8090. How can I solve this problem?

Er, localhost always means "my machine that I am running the browser on". The only time localhost works is when you are on the server running Confluence.

It sounds to me like you are either giving out the wrong address for your confluence, or more likely, your base-url for the server is incorrect. You'd usually access Confluence over something like https://ourserver/confluence, and that is what you need for the base url. Check Admin -> General Configuration

So what if your base-url is correct and you still get this error?

Start on the network analysis to work out why you can't connect to the server.
