Killed (core dumped) after db connect

Question

Hi, I installed the JIRA in my server but after selecting MYSQL and adding the connection information in console I receive "Killed (core dumped)" every time I start JIRE.

Any ideas?

I'm running the server in Digital Ocean with 1GB RAM / 1CPU  with cPanel (the newest)  and Centos 6.4 any ideas? maybe its because RAM/CPU?  if I upgrade to 2gb ram & 2cpu will work?

Hi Eduardo,

I believe you need to improve your hardware since for a small number of projects (10-20) with 1,000 to 5,000 issues in total and about 100-200 users, a recent server (multicore CPU) with 2 GB of available RAM and a reasonably fast hard drive (7200rpm or faster) should cater for your needs.

So, the suggestion of Sash is correct, and you should have at least 1GB only for the JVM as you can see on this another link: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/ENTERPRISE/JIRA+Sizing+Guide

What are your Java settings? How much memory is given to JVM?

1GB RAM for OS seems a bit low nowadays
