Unable to approve join request

Mike_xwvgad

I am a workspace admin.  I have users that request to join a board.  I want to be able to add them as observers, but when I go in the app or browser (Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) and look at the join requests, when I change the 'Add to board' to Observer, the dropdown goes right back to 'Add to board'.  It does that no matter what role I try to assign the individual.

Anyone have a fix or workaround?  Tried the copy link method, but users still can't access the board.
