Is JIRA - Confluence sync two way?

I've watch Confluence demos where it's possible to highlight text in Confluence to then create a task in JIRA.

What is the corresponding feature in JIRA? Can a user somehow update Confluence pages via JIRA?

Hi Lisa,

If you will integrate JIRA with Confluence you can get below abilities (depending on the JIRA/Confluence versions you use):

in JIRA:

* viewing Confluence page as a Gadget on a Dashboard
* Confluence Search gadget on a Dashboard
* Activity Streams that will show updates from Confluence
* special automatic "mentioned in" link in JIRA issue

in Confluence:

* creating issue (or multiple issues) without leaving Confluence
* showing status of the issues using JIRA Issues Macro (as a table or single issue)
* showing reports from JIRA on a Confluence page

As for you question: "Can a user somehow update Confluence pages via JIRA?"

From my knowledge unfortunately this is not OOTB possible from JIRA. You will be always redirected to Confluence event that you are viewing a Confluence page on a Dashboard.
