How do I recover text that hasn't saved because Confluence has failed to merge changes I've made wit

What do I do when I get this message:

Sorry, your changes cannot be merged automatically.

Rachel has saved changes for this page and your changes cannot be merged with theirs. You can overwrite, cancel or review their changes and continue editing the page below. 
Content in green will be added. Content in red will be removed. Content in blue will have its formatting changed. 

I AM Rachel, ie it thinks I'm another user and can't merge changes I've made with other changes I've made. In the end the only button I could hit was 'Close' - out of 3 options at the bottom of the page: Preview, Overwrite and Close. Then when I went to version history, my changes just weren't there, in any version of the page.

Have you checked the Drafts ?

Drafts are typically auto-saved versions of your work. If you didn't title the page, look for entries labeled Untitled.
