ITEMS MISSING FROM TRELLO BOARD

At least once or twice a week, we will add something to our Trello board, save it, then a few hours or day later, it is gone. No one is deleting or moving them. any advice is appreciated.

1. Accidental Archiving:

2. Filters:

  • Trello allows you to filter cards based on various criteria (labels, members, etc.). If a filter is active, it might hide the cards you're looking for.  
  • Sometimes users accidentally activate filters.
• How to check:
  • Look for a filter icon at the top of your board.
  • Click it to see if any filters are applied.
  • Click "Clear all" to remove any active filters.  

3. Board Activity:

• How it helps:
  • The board activity log records all actions taken on the board.  
• How to use it:
  • Review the board's activity log to see if anyone moved, archived, or deleted the card. This can help you trace what happened.  

4. Search Functionality:

• How it helps:
  • The Trello search function can help you locate cards that might have been moved to a different board.  
• How to use it:
  • Use the search bar at the top of Trello to search for keywords from the missing card.  

5. Automation (Butler):

• How it happens:
  • Trello's automation features (like Butler) can automatically archive or move cards based on triggers. If a rule is set up incorrectly, it could cause cards to disappear.  
• How to check:
  • Review your board's automation rules to ensure they're not causing the issue.

6. Browser/Connectivity Issues:

• How it happens:
  • Occasionally, browser glitches or internet connectivity problems can prevent changes from being saved properly.
• What to do:
  • Ensure you're using an updated browser.
  • Try clearing your browser's cache and cookies.
  • Verify your internet connection is stable.

7. Power-Ups:

• How it happens:
  • Some Trello power-ups can alter card behavior. Review any power-ups that are active on your board.

• Regularly check the activity log: This can help you identify any unusual activity.
• Communicate with your team: Ensure everyone on the board is aware of the issue and that no one is accidentally archiving or moving cards.
