Navitabs Appearance Alteration

Katherine Wertz

We’re using Navitabs in our Confluence instance and wanted to alter the background color of the tabs. However, we’re having difficulty overriding the default background color. The following is the space css we’re using:

div.localtabs-macro div.aui-tabs.horizontal-tabs>.tabs-menu>.menu-item {

background-color: #76b42d; !important

Inspect element (see below) says that the background-color rule was being accepted, but the background color wasn't changing.

Thanks!

bitvoodoo answered my question. To alter the appearance of the active and inactive tabs, I used the following css:

div.localtabs-macro div.aui-tabs.horizontal-tabs>.tabs-menu>.menu-item a {
background-color: #76b42d;
}
div.localtabs-macro div.aui-tabs.horizontal-tabs>.tabs-menu>.active-tab a {
background-color: #126f06;
}

Thanks!

Since I came across Katherine's solution which helped me, I'd like to pay it forward by sharing how to also change the border color for anyone that may come across this thread in the future:

.aui-tabs.horizontal-tabs > .tabs-menu > .menu-item > a, .aui-tabs.horizontal-tabs > .tabs-menu > .menu-item:first-child a, .aui-tabs.horizontal-tabs > .tabs-menu ~ .tabs-pane {
border-color: #000000;
}
.localtabs-macro > .horizontal-tabs.aui-tabs > .tabs-menu > .active-tab.menu-item {
border-color: #F0F0F0;
}

The .active-tab.menu-item element is excluded from the first so that the color of the border below the active tab can be changed separately. By default, this border is white, so if you have your tabs on a background that is not white, the one pixel white line is visible. Make the border match your background color if you want to keep the default stylization and just change color.

I am placing the code from Andrew's answer above inside of a CSS Style sheet on my Confluence page. Yet my tabs or the outline are not changing color. What am I missing here?

It looks like the greater than signs were replaced by > Try:

.aui-tabs.horizontal-tabs > .tabs-menu > .menu-item > a, .aui-tabs.horizontal-tabs > .tabs-menu > .menu-item:first-child a, .aui-tabs.horizontal-tabs > .tabs-menu > .tabs-pane
{
border-color: #000000;
}
.localtabs-macro > .horizontal-tabs.aui-tabs > .tabs-menu > .active-tab.menu-item
{border-color: red;
}
